A law firm in Arlington, VA, is seeking a Junior Immigration Law Associate Attorney with 2+ years of immigration-related experience. The candidate will assist lawyers in handling various aspects of immigration law, including family sponsorships, extreme hardship waivers, removal defense, national interest waivers, aliens of extraordinary ability, multinational managers/executives, treaty investment visas, and more. The role involves conducting client consultations, legal research, preparing immigration applications and legal briefs, and representing clients in immigration matters before USCIS, DOJ, and EOIR. The ideal candidate must possess strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to advocate effectively for clients' interests.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist senior attorneys in handling immigration cases across a broad spectrum of issues.
  • Conduct client consultations to assess immigration options and strategies.
  • Conduct legal research on immigration laws, policies, and regulations.
  • Prepare and file immigration applications, petitions, and legal briefs.
  • Represent clients in hearings, interviews, and proceedings before USCIS, DOJ, and EOIR.
  • Maintain communication with clients, keeping them informed about the progress of their cases.
  • Collaborate with team members and support staff to ensure efficient case management.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in any state bar association.
  • 2+ years of experience in immigration law, with a focus on removal defense, family-based immigration, and/or business immigration preferred.
  • Knowledge of current immigration laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex legal issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate legal concepts clearly.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
