Tax Attorney

A law firm based in Charlotte is seeking a skilled Tax Attorney with experience in mitigating tax burdens across various areas including mergers and acquisitions, real estate transactions, business tax planning, nonprofit tax planning, employee benefits, business succession, wealth transfer, and charitable planning. The ideal candidate will also have experience representing clients in tax-related legal disputes at both federal and local levels. The candidate should have 3-5 years of relevant experience, including tax law experience.

Duties:

• Provide legal counsel and advice on tax matters related to mergers & acquisitions, real estate transactions, and business planning.
• Develop strategies to minimize tax liabilities for clients and ensure compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on federal, state, and local tax laws.
• Assist clients in navigating tax-related disputes and represent them in negotiations and legal proceedings.
• Draft legal documents such as contracts, agreements, and tax opinions.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate potential impacts to clients.

Requirements:

• JD from an accredited law school.
• 3-5 years of experience in tax law or related field.
• Experience in mitigating tax burdens for clients across various industries.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local taxation laws and regulations.
• Proven track record in representing clients in tax-related legal disputes.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education:

JD from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar.
