Job Overview

A reputable law firm is seeking an International Trade Associate Attorney to join its Washington, D.C. office. This role involves working on the customs team within the global arbitration and trade advocacy practice, representing importers across various industries. Ideal candidates will have experience with U.S. Customs and Border Protection or similar experience and be capable of working independently or as part of a team.

Duties

  • Represent importers in various sectors, including consumer products, technology, energy, pharmaceuticals, and manufacturing.
  • Advise on customs-related matters and trade regulations.
  • Conduct thorough research and provide legal analysis on complex trade issues.
  • Draft legal documents and present findings to clients and team members.
  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys in international trade cases and customs matters.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as an attorney-advisor with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Office of Trade Regulations and Rulings, or similar experience.
  • Proven research and writing skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail.
  • Self-starter capable of working independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Admitted to or eligible for prompt admission to the District of Columbia Bar.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admitted to practice law in the District of Columbia or eligible for admission.
