A law firm in Oakland, CA, is seeking an experienced and dedicated Personal Injury Attorney to manage a robust caseload. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in plaintiff personal injury cases and will be responsible for handling all aspects of claims and cases from client intake through to trial. The role requires significant trial experience and the ability to make strategic decisions regarding case acceptance, prosecution, and settlement in partnership with firm management.

 

Key Duties:

  • Manage your own caseload, handling all aspects of claims and cases from client intake through pre-litigation, litigation, and trial.
  • Make strategic decisions regarding case acceptance, prosecution, and settlement.
  • Partner with firm management to determine which cases should be tried to verdict to maximize the client's recovery.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and prepare court documents, including motions, briefs, and memoranda.
  • Participate significantly in jury trials, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in at least three jury trials.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients throughout the case lifecycle.
  • Maintain detailed and organized case files and documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
  • Stay informed about legislative changes and judicial case law relevant to personal injury.
  • Represent clients in court hearings and trials with professionalism and expertise.
  • Collaborate with paralegals and support staff to ensure efficient case management.

 

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in plaintiff personal injury law.
  • Significant participation in at least three jury trials is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage a high-volume caseload independently.
  • Strong decision-making skills and the ability to determine case strategy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong legal research and writing abilities.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with firm management and staff.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Active Bar License in Good Standing from the State of California.

 

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of personal injury law and procedures.
  • Strong trial advocacy skills and courtroom experience.
  • Proficiency in legal research and document preparation.
  • Excellent negotiation and settlement skills.
  • Ability to build strong client relationships and provide empathetic client service.
