Duties and Responsibilities

  • Case Management: Manage and litigate managed care and health care cases, ensuring effective legal representation and case progress.
  • Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing legal counsel, coordinating case activities, and maintaining robust client relationships.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Oversee regulatory and compliance matters, ensuring adherence to relevant laws and regulations.
  • Legal Documentation: Conduct thorough legal research, and draft and review legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Litigation Strategy: Develop and implement litigation strategies, collaborating with senior attorneys and other associates to advance case objectives.
  • Representation: Represent clients in court proceedings, arbitration sessions, and settlement negotiations.
  • Coordination: Collaborate with other associates and support staff to manage cases and streamline legal processes.
  • Legal Updates: Stay informed about changes in managed care and health care regulations to provide accurate and up-to-date legal advice.

Requirements

  • Education: Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Certification: Active membership in good standing of the California State Bar.
  • Experience: 2-3 years of law firm or relevant in-house experience in complex commercial litigation and arbitration.
  • Specialization: Managed care or health care experience is required.
  • Skills:
    • Strong writing, research, analytical, and verbal communication skills.
    • Proven ability to manage multiple cases and regulatory/compliance matters effectively.
    • Significant case management and client counseling experience preferred.
