Job Overview:

The candidate will be responsible for handling complex federal immigration cases, managing a federal litigation team, and leading complex federal immigration litigation cases from inception to resolution. They must have in-depth knowledge of federal immigration laws and regulations, strong research and analytical skills, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Duties:

  • Handle complex federal immigration cases
  • Manage federal litigation team including lawyers, paralegals, and clerks
  • Lead complex federal immigration litigation cases from inception to resolution
  • Conduct legal research and analysis on federal immigration laws and regulations
  • Develop effective case strategies and provide expert legal counsel to clients
  • Draft and file legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs
  • Represent clients in federal courts, immigration courts, and administrative hearings
  • Conduct depositions, examinations, and cross-examinations of witnesses
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal professionals to ensure cohesive case management and strategy
  • Stay updated on changes in immigration laws and relevant federal court decisions
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing clear communication and regular updates
  • Handle legal negotiations with opposing counsel and government agencies

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in the states of Michigan, California, and New York
  • 8+ years of experience practicing federal immigration law

 

Certifications:

Active license to practice law in the states of Michigan, California, and New York

  • Extensive experience representing clients in federal courts and administrative agencies
