A law firm in Charlotte, NC, is seeking a skilled Workers’ Compensation Defense Attorney to join their team. The position involves defending employers and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation claims and litigation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Defend employers and insurance carriers in workers’ compensation cases through all stages of litigation.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Represent clients at hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
  • Provide strategic counsel to clients on workers’ compensation laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with clients, witnesses, experts, and internal team members.
  • Manage case files, ensure compliance with deadlines, and maintain accurate records.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active Bar membership in good standing in North Carolina.
  • Should have experience practicing law with a focus on workers’ compensation defense.
  • Thorough knowledge of workers’ compensation laws, procedures, and regulations.
  • Strong litigation skills and experience handling complex cases independently.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Trial experience in workers’ compensation cases preferred.
