A law firm in Chicago, IL is seeking an Architects and Engineers Associate Attorney to support their practice defending professionals against claims of malpractice. The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation experience, organizational skills, and excellent writing abilities. The Architects and Engineers Associate Attorney will be responsible for managing a varied caseload involving construction law matters. They will communicate effectively with the court, clients, and opposing counsel while defending architects and engineers against claims of professional malpractice.

 

Duties:

  • Handle a diverse caseload related to construction law
  • Defend architects and engineers against claims of professional malpractice
  • Manage case organization and documentation effectively
  • Communicate clearly and persuasively in written documents and oral presentations
  • Collaborate with colleagues on case strategy and preparation
  • Conduct legal research and analysis as needed
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings and trials
  • Maintain regular communication with clients regarding case progress
  • Negotiate settlements when appropriate
  • Stay updated on relevant legal developments and best practices in construction law

 

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of litigation experience
  • Strong organizational skills to manage a varied caseload effectively
  • Excellent writing skills for effective communication with the court, clients, and opposing counsel
  • Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Admission to the State Bar of Illinois

 

Experience:

5+ years of litigation experience supporting a practice defending architects and engineers against claims of professional malpractice
