A law firm seeks a highly skilled and motivated USCIS Immigration Attorney to join its growing team in Los Angeles. Duties:

  • Develop strategies and prepare clients and witnesses for testimony before USCIS and the courts
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage a diverse caseload, including both detained and non-detained individuals
  • Conduct intake interviews with detained clients at detention centers
  • Prepare and review immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecution, and community organizations on immigration-related matters
  • Consult with prospective clients to devise personalized legal strategies
  • Provide legal analysis to identify potential benefits for clients’ cases
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for a wide range of immigration cases

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in immigration law
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex legal matters clearly
  • Experience handling USCIS applications, Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Cases, EOIR, Citizenship, and Detained Cases
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required
  • Familiarity with Case Management Software is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar admission (preferably in California)

Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of immigration law, including USCIS processes and removal proceedings
  • Exceptional legal writing and communication skills
  • Strong organizational abilities with attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
