A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney for their Raleigh office. The successful candidate will primarily handle bankruptcy matters, overseeing the entire process and representing the interests of creditors. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of bankruptcy proceedings, representing creditors, and providing legal counsel to clients. They will collaborate closely with support staff and must possess a Juris Doctor degree with 3-5 years of relevant experience.

 

Duties:

  • Drafting and reviewing all documentation related to bankruptcy matters.
  • Overseeing the bankruptcy process, including plan confirmation, motions for relief, contested matters, and adversary proceedings.
  • Representing creditors' interests in bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Reviewing statutorily required notices, correspondence, pleadings, and other documents.
  • Efficiently preparing and responding to written inquiries or disputes.
  • Attending and arguing motions and other hearings before the courts.
  • Participating in mediation sessions.
  • Providing legal counsel to clients throughout the bankruptcy process.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of North Carolina.
  • 3-5 years of experience in bankruptcy law.
  • Interest in creditor bankruptcy work.
  • Experience with bankruptcy proceedings is a plus.
