Job Overview
An established law firm is seeking a highly motivated Associate Attorney with 2-3 years of experience to join its HOA (Homeowners Association) Practice Group. The ideal candidate will work on a diverse range of legal matters involving condominium associations and common interest community associations, including rule enforcement, interpretation of governing documents, contract negotiation, and collection of assessments. This is a fantastic opportunity for an attorney to gain hands-on experience while advancing professionally within a dynamic practice area.

Duties

  • Represent condominium associations and community associations in various legal matters, including rule enforcement, governing document interpretation, contract review, and assessment collections.
  • Conduct thorough legal research and prepare clear, concise written memoranda and reports.
  • Draft and review contracts, policies, and governing documents for associations.
  • Assist in negotiations and dispute resolutions for clients.
  • Manage case files and documentation with attention to detail and compliance.
  • Attend client meetings and communicate legal advice effectively.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases and legal strategies.
  • Handle administrative tasks and maintain excellent organization and documentation hygiene.

Requirements

  • 2-3 years of litigation experience, preferably in HOA or community association law.
  • Active bar license in Illinois.
  • Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive, self-motivated approach to case management.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for client and team interactions.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active Illinois Bar License.
