Job Overview: A prominent law firm located in Dallas, TX, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mid-Level Venture & Growth Associate Attorney. This role is ideal for individuals who have a passion for finance and law, particularly in the areas of commercial finance and lender-side representation. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with clients, represent financial institutions, and engage in significant work in a collaborative environment.

Duties:

  • Provide comprehensive legal representation for clients in commercial finance matters, including loan transactions for banks and private credit funds.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate various legal documents related to loans for technology, life sciences, and middle-market companies.
  • Engage in direct communication with clients, lawyers, and third parties to ensure clear and effective representation.
  • Produce high-quality work products, manage correspondence, and meet critical deadlines.
  • Foster positive and professional relationships within the firm and with external parties.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and independently when required, while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Participate in virtual and in-person meetings and complete assigned projects promptly.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 4+ years of experience representing lenders, with a focus on commercial finance matters.
  • Experience working with financial institutions such as banks and private credit funds on loans to middle-market companies, preferably in sectors like technology and life sciences.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and quality in legal work.
  • Excellent business judgment and the ability to make well-reasoned legal decisions.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in the State of Texas is required.

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities, with the capacity to influence and persuade stakeholders.
  • Proficient in legal research and problem-solving, offering creative solutions to complex legal issues.
