Job Overview: A law firm seeks a skilled and motivated Labor & Employment Associate Attorney to join its team in Fort Lauderdale or Orlando. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience handling employment-related legal matters, including Title VII, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and similar state laws. This position offers the opportunity to engage in complex litigation across various forums, including Federal and State Courts, as well as interactions with EEOC and other agencies.

Duties:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of employment law matters, including litigation and advisory work related to Title VII, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and state counterparts.
  • Handle discovery and motion practice, ensuring timely and accurate filing of motions, responses, and other court documents.
  • Represent clients in Federal and State Court proceedings and before agencies such as the EEOC.
  • Provide strategic legal advice and guidance to clients, managing cases independently with minimal supervision.
  • Prepare clear and concise legal documents, ensuring thorough research and analysis are reflected in each case.
  • Work collaboratively with a team of attorneys and support staff to deliver high-quality service to clients.
  • Engage in continuous learning and development, adapting to evolving legal practices and industry trends.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in labor and employment law, particularly in areas such as Title VII, FMLA, ADA, FLSA, and state counterparts.
  • Strong experience with Federal and State Court litigation, including discovery, motion practice, and oral arguments.
  • Proven ability to manage cases independently while maintaining high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexibly, adapting to changing priorities and client needs.
  • Excellent legal writing and research skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
  • Florida Bar admission is required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Florida Bar license required.

  • Expertise in labor and employment law, including federal and state statutes and regulations.
  • Experience in managing litigation cases, including working with agencies such as the EEOC.
