Job Overview: A leading law firm in Indianapolis, IN, is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented CMBS Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience in commercial real estate finance. The ideal candidate will join a dynamic team specializing in CMBS lending and servicing, with exposure to balance sheet financing and asset management. This role offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced legal environment, handling complex financing transactions for a variety of clients.

Duties:

  • Represent lenders in commercial real estate finance transactions, with a focus on CMBS lending and balance sheet financing.
  • Provide legal guidance in asset management and servicing of CMBS and balance sheet loans.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate loan documents and related legal contracts.
  • Conduct due diligence, title reviews, and coordinate closings.
  • Advise clients on risk management and legal strategies related to commercial real estate finance.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external parties to ensure the efficient handling of all aspects of loan transactions.
  • Stay updated on federal and state laws relevant to commercial real estate finance and loan servicing.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in commercial real estate finance.
  • Proficiency with CMBS/balance sheet financing and loan servicing.
  • Strong understanding of commercial real estate transactions and finance structures.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in the state of Indiana or eligibility to waive in.

Certifications:

  • Active and in good standing with Indiana State Bar.

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and drafting abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Familiarity with legal technology and document management systems.
