Senior Insurance Defense Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced Senior Insurance Defense Attorney to join its litigation team. The role involves providing comprehensive legal counsel, overseeing all phases of litigation, and delivering exceptional service to clients. This fully remote position offers opportunities to work on complex insurance defense cases in a collaborative and flexible environment.

Duties

• Develop and implement strategies to minimize risk for clients.
• Conduct extensive legal research and due diligence to support case strategies.
• Advise clients on all aspects of insurance defense law, including case evaluation and risk assessment.
• Draft, review, and revise contracts and legal documents related to insurance matters.
• Represent clients in legal proceedings, including depositions, hearings, mediations, and trials.
• Negotiate settlements and other resolutions on behalf of clients.
• Maintain meticulous records of client interactions and case developments.
• Supervise and guide paralegals and administrative staff.

Requirements

• At least 15 years of experience in litigation, particularly in insurance defense.
• Demonstrated ability to handle all phases of litigation independently, from inception to resolution.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective client interactions and courtroom advocacy.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other relevant legal software tools.
• Exceptional problem-solving and negotiation abilities.
• A collaborative mindset and the ability to work well in a team setting.

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in California.
