Job Overview

A law firm seeks a dedicated and skilled Family Law Attorney to join its expanding legal team. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of family law matters, guiding clients through legal challenges from initial consultation to resolution. Duties

• Represent clients in family law cases from initiation through settlement or trial.

• Advise clients on their legal rights and options, ensuring informed decision-making.

• Make court appearances both in-person and via Zoom.

• Draft legal documents including motions, judgments, settlement agreements, correspondence, and pretrial memoranda.

• Conduct discovery to gather evidence and build strong cases.

• Conduct consultations with potential clients and assess case viability.

Requirements

• Active membership in good standing with the Illinois Bar.

• Minimum of one year of experience in family law litigation.

• Strong legal research skills, with proficiency in Westlaw.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.

• Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities.

• Ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Admission to the Illinois State Bar.

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

• Experience using legal practice management software (Clio preferred but not required).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while handling individual caseloads.

• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining client confidentiality.
