General Liability Defense Litigation Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in New Orleans, LA is seeking a skilled General Liability Defense Litigation Attorney to manage a high-volume caseload of complex litigation cases and provide legal representation to insurance carrier clients. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with experienced Partners to devise litigation strategies and ensure excellent service delivery to clients.

Duties:

• Manage a high-volume caseload of complex litigation cases, including personal injury, medical malpractice, and insurance defense matters.
• Provide legal representation to insurance carrier clients in various litigation proceedings.
• Conduct legal research, analyze case law, and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, and mediations as necessary.
• Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders to provide case updates and strategize litigation tactics.
• Work closely with Partners to develop and implement effective litigation strategies.
• Participate in case evaluations and assist with settlement negotiations when appropriate.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the State Bar of Louisiana in good standing.
• Experience practicing law with a focus on general liability defense litigation.
• Strong understanding of civil litigation procedures and rules of evidence.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team and independently when necessary.
• Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the State Bar of Louisiana in good standing.
