Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking a skilled Employee Benefits & Executive Compensation Associate to join its highly ranked group. This position offers the opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients, including publicly traded corporations, privately owned companies, financial institutions, and tax-exempt organizations. The associate will be involved in advising clients on the design, implementation, and maintenance of employee benefits and executive compensation plans. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated individual with a strong background in employee benefits, ERISA fiduciary matters, and executive compensation.

Location: Cincinnati, OH 

Duties:

  • Advise clients on a broad range of employee benefits and executive compensation matters, including tax-qualified retirement plans, health and welfare benefits, non-qualified deferred compensation plans, incentive plans, and severance pay plans.
  • Analyze health and welfare plan issues and qualified plan issues, providing detailed solutions to complex problems.
  • Draft and review health and welfare plans, qualified retirement plans, and related legal documents.
  • Counsel clients on ERISA fiduciary matters, ensuring compliance with regulations.
  • Advise on benefits aspects of mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions.
  • Foster and maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high levels of satisfaction and trust.
  • Work collaboratively with senior attorneys and clients to deliver effective legal strategies.

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation law.
  • Experience in the analysis and drafting of health and welfare plans and qualified retirement plans.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle complex legal matters in the employee benefits space.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the bar in the state of practice (or eligible for admission).
