A law firm in Los Angeles, CA is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Product Liability Associate Attorney with 2+ years of litigation experience to join its Product Liability practice group. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, skilled in managing litigation cases, and eager to work on complex product liability matters. Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in product liability litigation, handling cases from pre-trial through resolution.
  • Conduct in-depth legal research to develop case strategy and prepare for trials.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery materials.
  • Manage all aspects of discovery, including document review, preparation of discovery requests and responses, and conducting depositions.
  • Prepare for and participate in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Assist in developing trial strategy, preparing expert and witness testimony, and organizing trial exhibits.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and experts to develop strong defenses and case strategies.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates on case progress and offering strategic legal advice.
  • Engage in settlement negotiations and explore alternative dispute resolution options when appropriate.

Requirements:

  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2+ years of litigation experience, preferably in product liability or related areas of law.
    • Strong experience with discovery, depositions, motion practice, and trial preparation is required.
  • Education:
    • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
    • Excellent academic credentials are required.
  • Licensure and Certifications:
    • Active member of the California State Bar or eligibility for admission via waiver or reciprocity.
  • Preferred Experience:
    • Federal clerkship experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and adhere to deadlines in a fast-paced litigation setting.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills for interacting with clients, opposing counsel, and internal teams.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team of attorneys and support staff.
  • Proficiency with e-discovery tools and litigation technology is advantageous.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively negotiate settlements and engage in alternative dispute resolution.
