Job Overview

A leading national law firm is seeking a Healthcare Litigation Associate Attorney to join its California team. The role is positioned within a specialized healthcare subgroup under the firm’s broader Consumer Financial Services practice. This group handles complex healthcare litigation, including ERISA benefit disputes, payor-provider contract issues, out-of-network reimbursement actions, regulatory compliance matters, and consumer healthcare coverage litigation. This is an opportunity to engage in sophisticated litigation work across both federal and state courts while supporting high-profile clients in the healthcare industry.

Location

Duties

  • Represent clients in a wide range of healthcare litigation matters including:

    • ERISA benefit claims

    • Contractual disputes between payors and providers

    • Out-of-network reimbursement issues

    • Consumer healthcare coverage disputes

    • Regulatory compliance actions

  • Draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, and discovery materials

  • Conduct complex legal research and write legal memoranda

  • Participate in hearings, depositions, and court proceedings

  • Collaborate closely with partners, clients, and other attorneys on litigation strategy

Requirements

  • 2–5 years of litigation experience, preferably in healthcare or related complex commercial litigation

  • Licensed and in good standing with the California State Bar

  • Experience practicing in both federal and state courts

  • Familiarity with healthcare regulations, ERISA, and reimbursement frameworks

  • Judicial clerkship experience is preferred but not required

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Strong academic credentials required

Certifications

  • Active member of the California State Bar
