Mid-level or Senior Commercial Litigation Associate

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking a mid-level or senior associate with 4-8 years of complex litigation experience to join their Litigation and Dispute Resolution team across multiple California office locations. The ideal candidate will have significant exposure to sophisticated commercial litigation matters, including some experience in insurance litigation. The role requires strong writing and analytical skills, a collaborative approach, and the ability to manage high-stakes disputes through all phases, including trials and appeals.

Location:

• Los Angeles, CA

Duties:

• Manage all aspects of commercial litigation from inception to trial and appeals
• Conduct legal research and draft memoranda, briefs, pleadings, motions, and other litigation documents
• Perform discovery tasks, including document review, propounding and responding to written discovery, and preparing for depositions
• Work closely with clients, witnesses, experts, and opposing counsel
• Collaborate with senior partners and other associates to strategize on complex legal matters
• Participate in hearings, motions, and trials as needed
• Provide legal counsel and represent clients in commercial litigation disputes

Requirements:

• 4-8 years of experience in complex litigation
• Insurance litigation experience is preferred but not required
• Strong writing, analytical, and case management skills
• Proven experience in drafting litigation documents and managing complex cases
• Ability to handle client communications and interact with opposing counsel and courts
• Deposition and court experience preferred
• Superior organizational and time-management skills
• Strong work ethic, goal-oriented with a dedication to client service
• Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment

Education:

• J.D. from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in the State of California and in good standing
