Family Law Attorney

A law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking an experienced Family Law Attorney with a minimum of 5 years of litigation experience. The Attorney will independently manage their own family law cases while receiving support from the firm’s principal attorney and staff. The firm emphasizes high-quality client representation and a balanced work-life environment.

Job Duties:

• Manage a caseload of family law cases independently, including drafting pleadings, financial disclosures, and other legal documents.
• Conduct discovery, including examining witnesses and taking depositions.
• Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings, trials, and settlement negotiations.
• Present oral arguments on substantive issues in court.
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates and advising on legal strategies.
• Collaborate with the principal attorney and support staff to ensure cases progress smoothly and efficiently.

Requirements:

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the California State Bar in good standing.
• Minimum 5 years of experience practicing family law, with significant litigation experience.
• Proven ability to handle complex family law cases independently.
• Strong negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Certifications/Skills:

• Certification in Family Law by the State Bar of California (preferred but not required).
• Experience with alternative dispute resolution methods such as mediation and arbitration.
• Bilingual proficiency (Spanish) is a plus.
