A law firm seeks a qualified Associate Attorney to join its general liability and medical malpractice teams in Philadelphia, PA. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work closely with experienced partners on a variety of complex insurance defense cases. The ideal candidate will be licensed to practice in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with a Delaware license considered a plus. Duties:

  • Assist partners in handling general liability and medical malpractice cases.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and other court documents.
  • Represent clients in court hearings, depositions, and mediations.
  • Participate in trial preparation and provide support throughout the litigation process.
  • Communicate with clients, providing case updates and legal counsel.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to manage case files and meet court deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Active licenses to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
  • Delaware Bar admission is preferred but not required.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Experience or interest in general liability and medical malpractice defense.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple cases.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in Pennsylvania and New Jersey (Delaware preferred but not required).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and document drafting.
  • Strong case management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collaborate with senior attorneys and support staff.
  • Effective communication and negotiation skills.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.
