Job Overview:

A well-established law firm located in McLean, VA, is seeking an associate attorney with 2+ years of experience in Workers’ Compensation and Employers’ Liability. The role involves defending employers, restaurants, retail businesses, and other entities in workers' compensation and liability claims in state and federal courts. The work will include representing clients in cases involving toxic torts, premises liability, commercial disputes, and motor vehicle-related injury claims.

Duties:

• Defend clients in workers’ compensation and liability cases, including toxic torts, premises liability, and motor vehicle-related claims.
• Draft legal documents such as pleadings, motions, memoranda, and discovery responses.
• Manage and prioritize a high volume of cases while meeting deadlines.
• Perform detailed legal research on complex issues.
• Represent clients in court appearances, depositions, and client meetings.
• Communicate regularly with clients to provide updates and advice.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to ensure the timely progression of cases.

Requirements:

• Must be licensed to practice law in Virginia.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in workers' compensation and employers' liability.
• Strong academic background and exceptional research, writing, and communication skills.
• Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Bar admission in Virginia is required.
