This role involves providing strategic legal guidance to employers, conducting audits, drafting policies, and explaining complex employment law matters in an understandable manner. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in labor and employment litigation and a strong ability to develop proactive legal strategies.

Location:

  • Richmond, Virginia

Duties:

  • Conduct audits of employer practices, including wage and hour policies and procedures.
  • Draft and revise incentive compensation documents, including commission and bonus plans.
  • Develop and update employee policies, handbooks, and other workplace communication materials.
  • Provide legal counsel on employment law matters tailored to a diverse audience.
  • Analyze and present problem-solving options, outlining the legal and practical implications for clients.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 9 years of relevant experience in labor and employment law.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local workplace laws.
  • Understanding of current agency enforcement techniques (state and federal) is a plus.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Virginia State Bar and in good standing.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • Excellent legal research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to conduct training sessions or workplace investigations (preferred but not required).
