Job Overview:
A well-established law firm in Flint, MI is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 0-5 years of experience to join its team. This role provides an exciting opportunity for recent law school graduates or attorneys with a few years of experience to grow their careers in Real Estate, Probate, and Estate Planning law. The ideal candidate will also have opportunities to work in other practice areas as needed. This is a full-time, hands-on position offering mentorship, a collaborative environment, and the chance to develop skills in various legal fields.

Location:

Duties:

  • Represent clients in court, hearings, and legal proceedings
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, contracts, wills, trusts, motions, and other legal documents
  • Handle real estate transactions, including property sales, title issues, and land use matters
  • Advise clients on estate planning and probate matters, including drafting wills, trusts, and managing probate proceedings
  • Assist with case preparation, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation
  • Analyze laws, rulings, and regulations applicable to specific cases and practice areas
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships and provide effective communication to meet client needs
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex cases and provide litigation support

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Michigan State Bar (or pending bar results for recent graduates)
  • 0-5 years of experience in a legal setting, with a preference for experience in Real Estate, Probate, and Estate Planning
  • Strong research, analytical, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of professionalism, integrity, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Michigan State Bar (or pending results for recent graduates)
