Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Antitrust Associate to join its Antitrust practice in Washington, DC. This role will primarily focus on M&A antitrust matters, including merger reviews under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act. Ideal candidates will have substantial academic achievement, a strong background in antitrust law, and experience in transactional matters involving regulatory agencies such as the U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division or the Federal Trade Commission Bureau of Competition.

Location:

  • Washington, DC

Duties:

  • Assist in M&A antitrust matters, including merger reviews under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act
  • Provide legal support on matters involving the Department of Justice Antitrust Division and/or the Federal Trade Commission Bureau of Competition
  • Conduct research and analysis related to antitrust law
  • Draft legal documents and memoranda for review
  • Participate in client meetings and communications
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and other team members in a fast-paced environment

Requirements:

  • Junior to Mid-Level experience in Antitrust law
  • Knowledge of antitrust issues, particularly in relation to M&A and the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act
  • Experience with U.S. Department of Justice Antitrust Division and/or Federal Trade Commission Bureau of Competition
  • Demonstrated interest or background in antitrust law

Education:

  • JD from a nationally recognized law school
  • Strong academic credentials

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction (preferably DC)

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and research skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage complex matters
  • Strong problem-solving skills in the context of antitrust law
