A law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney for its office in Plano, TX. Here’s what the position entails:

Job Overview:

The Associate Attorney will assist in various legal matters, including preparing legal documents, conducting research, attending hearings, providing counsel, and maintaining client files. The ideal candidate should possess a J.D. from an accredited law school, be licensed in Texas and one of the specified states, and have 2 years of litigation experience.

Duties:

  • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare for and attend hearings and other legal proceedings.
  • Analyze conflicts in legal matters, advise clients on solutions, and negotiate on behalf of clients.
  • Communicate with senior attorneys, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently.
  • Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is readily available.

Requirements:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed in Texas, California, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, or Nevada.
  • 2 years of experience in litigation.
  • Consumer credit litigation (Fair Credit Reporting Act) experience is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Experience analyzing, reviewing, editing, and drafting litigation documents.
  • Superior analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Good academic credentials.
  • Commitment to working ethically and always in the client's best interest.
  • Excellent work ethic, articulate, and efficient.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.
