Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced Foreclosure Attorney to join their team. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for drafting and reviewing foreclosure-related pleadings, attending foreclosure settlement conferences, and advising clients on legal strategies. This role is a hybrid position, allowing for a combination of in-office and remote work.

Location:

  • New York, NY

Duties:

  • Prepare and review foreclosure-related motions such as Summons and Complaints, Orders of Reference, Motions for Summary Judgment, and Judgments of Foreclosure and Sale.
  • Attend hearings and mediation appearances.
  • Provide analysis of cases and advise clients regarding legal strategies.
  • Draft court pleadings, status letters, denial letters, and written requests.
  • Collaborate with Supervising Foreclosure Attorney, Business Unit, and Per Diem Appearance Counsel.
  • Provide legal directives for clients on behalf of the firm.
  • Directly manage escalated cases and manage client systems.
  • Coordinate client and bank representative appearances.
  • Willingness to travel on an as-needed basis.

Requirements:

  • Member of the New York Bar and maintaining necessary licensing and continuing legal education requirements.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of foreclosure experience.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills and the ability to communicate effectively with clients.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Strong time management, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Ability to adapt and take initiative in the face of obstacles.
  • Must be a team player and willing to collaborate across departments.
  • Ability to develop professional relationships and build rapport with clients and colleagues.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in New York.

Skills:

  • Proficient in software tools including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Internet research.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Detail-oriented and capable of working at a fast pace.
  • Ability to effectively manage deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
