Position Title: Immigration Attorney

Job Overview:
A reputable law firm based in Miami, FL, seeks a highly motivated and dedicated Associate Immigration Attorney. This role offers an excellent growth opportunity in a dynamic environment where you will handle a variety of immigration matters, manage cases, and engage with clients. You will work closely with a skilled team of immigration attorneys and legal assistants, reporting directly to the Senior Associate Attorney.

Duties:

  • Provide clients with clear explanations of immigration procedures and legal options
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage a diverse caseload of immigration cases
  • Conduct intakes and interviews with detained individuals at designated centers
  • Prepare a range of immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense filings
  • Review and refine immigration applications and supporting documentation
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial agencies, and community organizations on immigration law updates
  • Conduct strategic immigration consultations with prospective clients
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances and USCIS interviews
  • Analyze legal cases to identify potential benefits and strategies for clients
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration matters

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 1-4 years of experience practicing immigration law
  • Strong ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for effective client and team interaction
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and advance legal cases effectively
  • Familiarity with family-based petitions, humanitarian applications, EOIR cases, and other USCIS processes

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar license in good standing

Skills:

  • Proficiency in case management software is preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Effective communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
