Duties:

  • Prepare detailed memorandums, legal briefs, and case filings to support complex immigration cases before agencies such as USCIS, BIA, and EOIR.
  • Conduct thorough case assessments to determine the most effective legal strategies.
  • Collaborate closely with paralegals and legal assistants in managing case workflows.
  • Conduct client consultations both in person and virtually to evaluate cases and advise on the next steps.
  • Attend USCIS interviews, court hearings, and other necessary proceedings.
  • Manage and provide legal counsel on a variety of immigration case types, including but not limited to:
    • Family-based petitions
    • VAWA and U Visas
    • Asylum and Removal Defense
    • Waiver applications (I-601, I-601A, I-212)
    • Naturalization and citizenship matters
    • Requests for Evidence (RFE)
    • Motion to Reopen and Appeals

Requirements:

  • Must hold a valid Bar license (NY Bar preferred).
  • At least 2-3 years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • New York State Bar License (preferred).

Skills:

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
