Insurance Defense Attorney

A law firm seeks a remote Insurance Defense Attorney to join its team, with a focus on handling insurance defense cases in New York, particularly in the New York City area. This role involves managing tort litigation and insurance fraud matters, providing top-tier legal counsel to clients, and representing them in court when necessary. The position is ideal for a New York-barred attorney, and holding a Massachusetts bar license is a plus.

Duties:

• Handle a variety of tort litigation and insurance defense matters, including fraud investigation and litigation.
• Appear in court as needed, particularly in the New York City area, to represent clients.
• Manage case files, conduct legal research, and draft pleadings and legal documents.
• Collaborate with internal teams and clients to develop case strategies and ensure successful outcomes.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal laws related to insurance defense and fraud litigation.

Requirements:

• Active bar admission in New York (Massachusetts bar admission is a plus).
• Experience in insurance defense, tort litigation, and/or fraud investigation.
• Ability to handle a high volume of cases independently.
• Willingness to appear in court, primarily in the New York City area, as needed.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in New York (Massachusetts bar license preferred but not required).

Skills:

• Strong legal research, writing, and courtroom advocacy skills.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities for client and court interactions.
• Organizational and time management skills to manage multiple case files and deadlines.
