A law firm seeks an experienced Trusts and Estates Attorney to join a well-established practice group based in Park Ridge, IL. This full-time opportunity invites a lateral attorney with a strong background in estate planning, probate/trust administration, and trust and estate litigation. The firm is looking for a highly skilled individual who is ready to contribute to a dynamic and client-focused team, with ample room for professional growth and development. A portable book of business is preferred, though not required. This position offers the opportunity to build lasting client relationships while working in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Duties

  • Provide expert legal counsel in estate planning, probate, and trust administration.
  • Represent clients in trust and estate litigation matters, ensuring effective advocacy and outcomes.
  • Assist with elder law, guardianship law, and tax return preparation, where applicable.
  • Cultivate and maintain client relationships, offering tailored solutions to complex matters.
  • Manage a diverse caseload, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines with precision and efficiency.
  • Contribute to the firm’s growth by actively participating in business development and client acquisition efforts.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in a team-oriented, client-centered environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in estate planning, probate and trust administration, and trust/estate litigation.
  • Experience in elder law, guardianship law, and tax return preparation is a plus.
  • A portable book of business is preferred, though not mandatory.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and oral communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proven track record of managing a diverse caseload with efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Licensed to practice law in Illinois and be in good standing.

Education

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Excellent academic credentials.

Certifications

  • Active license to practice law in Illinois.
