A law firm seeks an experienced and motivated Insurance Defense Attorney to join its team in Edinburg, TX. This full-time, remote position offers an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a background in insurance defense, specifically in construction defect and bodily injury defense matters. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment, work well independently and collaboratively, and demonstrate a proactive approach to addressing client needs.

Duties:

  • Manage and handle a caseload focused on construction defects, bodily injury defense, and other insurance defense matters.
  • Provide legal representation for clients involved in complex insurance-related disputes.
  • Draft and file motions, pleadings, and other legal documents relevant to defense cases.
  • Collaborate with a legal team to build and implement defense strategies.
  • Participate in negotiations, mediation, and settlement discussions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements and deadlines in defense litigation.
  • Work independently while maintaining strong communication with clients and team members.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in insurance defense, with a focus on construction defect and bodily injury defense.
  • Proven ability to handle a fast-paced workload and manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Strong law and motion experience is a plus.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and a desire to go above and beyond for clients.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas (Texas Bar in Good Standing).
  • Additional licensure in other states is a plus.

  • Expertise in insurance defense law, particularly construction defect and bodily injury cases.
  • Strong legal writing and drafting skills.
