Job Title: Associate Attorney

Duties:

  • Handle a substantial caseload focused on mortgage foreclosure and collections, ensuring timely and effective case management.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings and trials, with regular court appearances required.
  • Manage the discovery process, depositions, and conflict resolution within legal matters.
  • Engage in appellate work as necessary, with strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop strategies for resolving legal disputes.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor in creditor's rights matters.
  • Contribute to the growth and development of the firm’s practice in Arkansas.
  • Assist in expanding the firm’s presence and reputation in the legal community.
  • Travel may be required for court appearances.

Requirements:

  • Must be a member in good standing of the Arkansas State Bar and licensed to practice in the Arkansas federal district and bankruptcy courts (or able to obtain such licensure quickly).
  • At least 5 years of experience in mortgage foreclosure and collections, with a proven track record of managing a high volume of cases.
  • Strong knowledge of discovery practices, depositions, and conflict resolution.
  • Preferred experience in appellate law and familiarity with TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, with exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • A proactive approach to relationship-building, to become a trusted partner and advisor in the industry.
  • A commitment to providing superior client support, exercising sound judgment, and maintaining professionalism at all times.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • A Bar license in the state of Arkansas is required.
  • Additional Bar licenses are a plus.

Skills:

  • Expertise in mortgage foreclosure and collections.
  • Knowledge of creditor’s rights law.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Appellate experience is a plus.
  • Familiarity with consumer protection laws such as TILA, RESPA, and FDCPA.
  • Ability to manage a significant caseload efficiently.
