A law firm in Williston, ND, is seeking a proactive Associate Attorney to join their team. The successful candidate will assist partners and managing attorneys with litigation matters and have the opportunity to develop their own litigation practice. This role involves representing clients in various court settings, advocating zealously on their behalf, and managing case preparation and strategy. The ideal candidate will be licensed or eligible to become licensed in North Dakota and have a strong desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Duties:

  • Assist partners and managing attorneys with managing and strategizing litigation matters.
  • Advocate zealously for clients in various court settings.
  • Represent clients in court, including presenting evidence to judges and/or juries if cases proceed to trial.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Manage the preparation and filing of court documents, including legal briefs and appeals.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze cases to devise effective strategies for client representation.
  • Interpret laws and advise clients about their legal rights and options.
  • Attend and lead meetings, hearings, conference calls, and other legal proceedings.
  • Develop and build a personal litigation practice over time.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an American Bar Association (ABA) accredited law school.
  • Licensed or able to become licensed to practice law in the State of North Dakota.
  • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
