A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for its immigration practice group in Tampa, FL. The ideal candidate will handle a diverse caseload of immigration matters and collaborate with other legal professionals.

Job Overview:

The Associate Attorney will primarily focus on immigration law, managing various cases from inception to resolution. This role involves conducting legal research, drafting documents, representing clients, and staying updated on immigration laws and policies.

Duties:

  • Handle a diverse caseload of immigration matters, including non-immigrant visa applications, green card processes, naturalization applications, waivers of inadmissibility, and I-9 compliance.
  • Conduct legal research into immigration laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Collaborate with attorneys, shareholders, paralegals, and administrative personnel on complex immigration matters.
  • Draft legal documents such as forms, letters, petition packages, and correspondence.
  • Take ownership of cases with limited supervision, ensuring timely completion.
  • Contribute to case strategy and analysis.
  • Represent clients in interviews and proceedings.
  • Communicate with clients, government agencies, and other parties involved in cases.
  • Stay updated on changes in immigration laws and policies.
  • Assist in business development efforts and networking activities.
  • Participate in training programs and professional development opportunities.
  • Uphold ethical standards and maintain client confidentiality.
  • Keep accurate accounting of time spent on each project.

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Previous experience in immigration and labor and employment law.
  • Excellent knowledge of immigration law and practice.
  • Strong academic credentials and research skills.
  • Admittance to practice in Florida is preferred.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Bar admission in any state.
