Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking a dedicated and skilled Case Development Intake Attorney to join its team. This attorney will be responsible for managing and investigating cases, collaborating with a case manager, and ensuring that all necessary documentation, investigations, and communications are properly handled. The role is integral in the early stages of case development and preparation for litigation.

Location:

  • Austin, TX

Duties:

  • Investigate and develop commercial cases, including securing accident reports, photos, and evidence.
  • Manage a docket of approximately 50 cases in collaboration with an assigned case manager.
  • Perform criminal and social media investigations on clients and adverse parties.
  • Secure medical records, order driving records, and obtain witness statements.
  • Handle property damage claims and communicate with clients and adjusters.
  • Prepare and approve expense requests, and maintain detailed case status reports.
  • Assist clients in developing medical damages and preparing the case for the litigation team.
  • Provide regular updates to clients via status letters and manage client communications.
  • Act as liaison between management and adjusters to settle certain cases.
  • Ensure 100% compliance with all policies and procedures.
  • Manage after-hours calls and sign-up new clients both in-office and remotely (via DocuSign).
  • Prepare and submit case evaluations to assist in determining case viability.

Requirements:

  • Ability to handle a high-volume case load effectively.
  • Strong management and leadership capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and delegation skills.
  • High energy and self-motivation to achieve the best results.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work.
  • Must be approachable and communicate professionally with clients and staff.
  • Must ensure compliance with ethical and legal obligations.
  • Ability to motivate and energize support staff for optimal performance.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Must be licensed in Texas and in good standing.
  • 0-3 years of personal injury law experience.

Certifications:

  • Active State Bar license (Texas preferred).

Skills:

  • Strong research and legal analysis skills.
  • Proficiency in managing cases and client relationships.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in customer service or sales is a plus.
  • Previous experience supervising non-attorney staff is preferred.
