Duties:

• Maintain confidentiality and objectivity in all client matters.
• Prepare for hearings, research potential legal issues, and provide strategic guidance to clients.
• Advocate for clients and secure the best possible legal outcomes.
• Stay up-to-date on changes in criminal law and apply relevant post-conviction remedies.
• Advise clients on both the direct and collateral consequences of their legal issues.
• Draft motions, filings, and other documents, ensuring deadlines are met.
• Ensure punctuality and professional appearance in court and the office.
• Maintain good client rapport and treat clients with respect at all times.
• Participate in training and networking events as required by the firm.
• Accurately and concurrently bill time spent on cases.

Requirements:

• 1-5 years of experience in criminal defense (experience in misdemeanors preferred).
• High energy and eagerness to learn and grow in criminal defense.
• Strong research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Must be prepared, punctual, and professional.
• Committed to providing high-quality client service.
• Ability to work well under pressure and manage multiple cases.
• Willingness to travel throughout Alameda County and the surrounding Bay Area.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership and good standing with the State Bar of California.
