Job Overview:

The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of affordable housing finance, development incentives, and transactional structures. Duties:

  • Led and managed affordable housing transactions from inception through closing

  • Structure and negotiate transactions involving Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), including both 4% and 9% credits

  • Handle refinancing, acquisitions, dispositions, and exit strategies related to affordable housing assets

  • Represent developers, lenders, investors, and other stakeholders in a variety of deal types

  • Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of transaction documents

  • Conduct comprehensive due diligence and identify key issues

  • Engage in strategic planning and provide practical, business-minded legal advice

  • Collaborate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and third-party participants

  • Oversee deal timelines, coordinate multi-party closings, and ensure legal and regulatory compliance throughout

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of substantive law firm experience in affordable housing transactions

  • Demonstrated ability to independently lead complex deals

  • Familiarity with multifaceted transaction structures involving LIHTC, tax-exempt bonds, HUD financing, and state/local housing programs

  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities tailored to both legal and business audiences

  • Capacity to perform under pressure and meet demanding deadlines

  • Proven record of working effectively within cross-functional teams

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from a nationally accredited and recognized law school

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Florida Bar
