Job Overview:
A growing law firm is seeking a Litigation Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about developing litigation skills and gaining exposure to complex foreclosure, bankruptcy, and real property cases. This position provides an excellent opportunity for an attorney to hone procedural and litigation experience while delivering high-quality legal services. The position is in-office, with a chance to work directly with clients and represent them in court hearings, mediations, and other legal proceedings.

Location:
Fort Lauderdale, Florida

Duties:

  • Draft and review pleadings and other court filings related to litigation
  • Attend court hearings, mediations, depositions, and code enforcement hearings, both in-person and remotely
  • Work closely with mortgage banking clients, providing legal services and advice
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal foreclosure, bankruptcy, and collections requirements
  • Exercise discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism
  • Organize and prioritize workload to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Produce accurate, high-quality work product

Requirements:

  • 2 years of experience in civil litigation.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively
  • Previous exposure to Florida Rules of Civil Procedure is a plus but not required
  • Must demonstrate critical thinking and problem-solving abilities

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar Membership (Florida Bar required)

Skills:

  • Intermediate to advanced-level computer and office skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to analyze and recommend corrective actions
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
