Partner/Senior Associate - General Liability Litigation

A law firm seeks a highly experienced and self-driven Partner/Senior Associate to join their team in Iselin, NJ. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in general liability litigation, including commercial motor vehicle defense, premises liability, product liability, and construction accident cases. Trial experience is highly preferred. Duties:

• Lead and manage general liability cases, including defense in commercial motor vehicle accidents, premises liability, construction accidents, and product liability.
• Handle a caseload with a focus on litigation strategy, case preparation, and client representation.
• Participate in all phases of litigation, from pre-trial discovery to trial preparation and court appearances.
• Collaborate with colleagues to provide high-quality legal representation and client service.
• Draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and discovery responses.
• Mentor and guide junior associates and staff within the firm.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, acting as a trusted advisor.
• Contribute to the firm’s growth by generating business and fostering client relationships.
• Take an active role in case strategy and legal team collaboration.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 5 years of litigation experience, particularly in general liability defense.
• Proven trial experience is strongly preferred.
• Strong organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Self-starter with the ability to independently manage caseloads and deadlines.
• A proven track record in client relations and business development is a plus.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team of attorneys and staff.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active New Jersey Bar license in good standing.

Skills:

• Strong litigation, negotiation, and legal writing skills.
• Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to analyze complex legal issues and offer creative, strategic solutions.
• Comfortable in a leadership role and with mentoring junior attorneys.
