Associate Attorney with 2-5 years of experience

A law firm seeks a driven Associate Attorney to join its litigation team in Baton Rouge, LA. The firm handles a variety of defense matters, including hurricane/catastrophe claims, property and casualty claims, personal injury defense, bad faith litigation, insurance coverage issues, retail and premises liability, and corporate defense. The ideal candidate will have 2-5 years of litigation experience, but recent graduates and newly admitted attorneys will also be considered.

Duties:

• Assist in the handling of litigation cases related to hurricane/catastrophe claims, insurance coverage disputes, and property and casualty issues.
• Represent clients in personal injury defense, bad faith litigation, and premises liability matters.
• Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery materials.
• Attend court hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials as needed.
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice to clients on case development.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and team members to develop strong case strategies.
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates on case progress.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of experience in defense litigation is preferred, though recent law graduates and newly admitted attorneys are welcome to apply.
• Experience in insurance defense, premises liability, or similar practice areas is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and work independently or as part of a team.
• Proficiency in legal research and analysis.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Louisiana.
