A law firm seeks a motivated and experienced Associate Attorney to join its Capital Projects & Infrastructure practice in Washington, D.C. This role focuses on providing legal guidance and representation in renewable energy and infrastructure project finance and development. The position offers exposure to sophisticated matters, collaboration with a dynamic team, and opportunities for professional growth.

Duties

  • Advise clients on renewable energy and infrastructure project finance and development.
  • Negotiate and draft contracts, including M&A agreements, EPCs, O&M agreements, supply agreements, and power purchase agreements.
  • Support clients in project financing and other transactional matters.
  • Collaborate with deal teams to structure, negotiate, and close complex transactions.
  • Maintain regular communication with partners and clients, assuming responsibility for specific components of deals.

Requirements

  • 4 to 7 years of experience in project finance and development, ideally with a focus on renewable energy or infrastructure projects.
  • Proficiency in drafting and negotiating legal agreements.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Capable of managing components of deals independently.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality legal counsel and client service.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership and good standing in the jurisdiction of practice.

Skills

  • Advanced legal drafting and negotiation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of project finance structures and renewable energy development.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical abilities.
