Duties:

  • Represent clients in divorce and child custody cases, handling all aspects of family law matters.
  • Advocate zealously for clients in court, presenting strong arguments and negotiating settlements.
  • Manage and organize a personal caseload, ensuring timely filings, court appearances, and updates to clients.
  • Collaborate with team members to strategize and develop case approaches.
  • Provide high-quality client service, building strong relationships with clients through effective communication.
  • Participate in firm marketing efforts and client acquisition, including promoting legal services and networking.
  • Attend and contribute to team meetings focused on legal strategies and firm growth.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 1 year of experience handling family law cases, with a focus on divorce and child custody.
  • Strong litigation skills and confidence in courtroom settings, with the ability to effectively sell legal positions to judges.
  • Excellent legal writing and drafting skills, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to meet and exceed billable hour expectations, with a minimum of 110 billable hours per month.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage client relationships and expectations.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar License is required in the state of Michigan.
