Duties:

• Advise clients on immigration law matters and offer strategic solutions.
• Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
• Manage a caseload and handle client interactions effectively.
• Conduct intake interviews with detained individuals at detention centers.
• Prepare and file various immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense.
• Review immigration applications and adjust them as needed to ensure accuracy.
• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on immigration law changes.
• Meet with potential clients for consultations, developing appropriate legal strategies.
• Prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances and USCIS testimony.
• Provide legal analysis to determine potential case benefits for clients.
• Draft and submit legal briefs related to immigration cases.

Requirements:

• 1-4 years of experience practicing Immigration Law.
• A collaborative team player with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Proven track record of moving cases forward and managing a busy caseload.
• Knowledge and experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR, Legal Writing, Detained cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
• Familiarity with case management software is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to practice law in the state of California.

Certifications:

• Must be licensed to practice law in the state of California.

Skills:

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
• Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to clients.
