Job Overview:
An established, multi-state real estate and creditors' rights law firm is seeking a qualified Associate Attorney to join its default servicing practice in Rhode Island and New Hampshire. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a dedicated attorney to work on a diverse and challenging caseload within the creditor’s rights field. Location:

  • Tampa, FL

Duties:

  • Handle a significant volume of creditor's rights cases, including discovery, depositions, and conflict resolution.
  • Manage and litigate cases involving foreclosure, bankruptcy, consumer collections, and related matters.
  • Provide legal guidance and support in compliance with TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code.
  • Assist with appellate matters as necessary.
  • Conduct court appearances and depositions, and assist with settlement conferences.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor.
  • Collaborate with the team and contribute to the firm’s growth in the default servicing space.

Requirements:

  • Active membership in the Rhode Island Bar (New Hampshire and Massachusetts Bar memberships are a plus).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the default servicing space.
  • Experience in creditor’s rights, foreclosure, and bankruptcy law.
  • Ability to manage a high caseload efficiently.
  • Strong knowledge of TILA, RESPA, FDCPA, and the Bankruptcy Code preferred.
  • Excellent leadership, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to independently manage cases and interact with clients, opposing counsel, and colleagues.
  • Court appearances and occasional travel required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the Rhode Island Bar required.
  • Membership in the New Hampshire and Massachusetts Bars is a plus.
  • Additional Bar licenses are a plus.
