Duties

• Represent clients, including municipalities, school boards, and private employers, in civil litigation matters
• Handle cases involving employment disputes, public policy issues, excessive force allegations, and other complex legal issues
• Appear regularly in both federal and state courts throughout Virginia
• Conduct legal research, draft motions, and prepare legal documents
• Advise clients on case strategies and provide sound legal counsel
• Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff on case preparation and trial strategy

Requirements

• Strong background in civil litigation, preferably with experience in local government or employment law
• Ability to handle complex cases and manage multiple responsibilities effectively
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Dedication to teamwork and collaboration

Education

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active membership in the Virginia State Bar
