Contracts Attorney

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking a Contracts Attorney to negotiate and manage business contracts, working closely with procurement and events teams. This role requires strong business acumen, experience in contract negotiation, and the ability to identify legal risks while ensuring compliance with firm policies.

Location:

Duties:

• Negotiate business contracts, including software licenses, professional services, and technology agreements

• Identify legal risks and business issues throughout the contracting process

• Draft and review contract templates for the firm's repository

• Ensure contracts comply with firm policies and legal requirements

• Manage the contract review process, including tracking, filing, and organizing completed contracts

• Address issues related to intellectual property, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, privacy, and technology licensing

• Work collaboratively with internal departments to drive optimal, time-sensitive results

Requirements:

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in contract drafting and negotiation within a large law firm or corporation

• Strong understanding of contract negotiation principles within the legal industry

• Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines

• High level of attention to detail and organizational skills

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work in a fast-paced environment

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Admission to the Bar in New York, Illinois, or Washington, DC

Skills:

• Advanced contract negotiation and drafting skills

• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)

• Strong problem-solving abilities and business acumen

• Excellent client communication and relationship management skills
