A law firm is seeking a dedicated and experienced IP Transactions Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team in Washington, DC. The role requires drafting and negotiating IP and technology contracts and preparing and prosecuting patent applications in areas such as computer science, AI, fintech, and related technologies. The ideal candidate will have a robust academic background, strong analytical skills, and a passion for learning new technologies and their legal implications.

Job Duties:

  • Draft and negotiate IP and technology contracts.
  • Prepare and prosecute patent applications in computer science, AI, fintech, and related technologies.
  • Conduct patentability and freedom-to-operate analyses.
  • Provide strategic IP advice to clients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IP and technology transactions.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving technologies and related legal issues.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant IP laws and regulations.

Requirements:

  • 4-9 years of experience in an IP and technology practice.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience, specifically in IP and technology contracts.
  • Patent registration number or eligibility to take the Patent Bar.
  • Experience in patent prosecution.
  • DC Bar membership or eligibility to waive in.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic background with excellent analytical and writing skills.

Certifications:

  • Patent Bar registration number or eligibility to take the Patent Bar.
  • Membership with the DC Bar or eligibility to waive in.

Skills:
